Oil palm
The Oil palm grows to a height of 60-80 feet in wild, but only 20-30 feet in cultivation. it can live longer that 150 years. The oil palm has a huge, ringed trunk covered with prominent leaf scars. The palm produces male and female inflorescences in leaf axlis following drupes. Oil palm tree has become the world’s number one fruit crop. Oil palm seed in the most important of all the palm tree seeds. The oil palm produces palm oil which is used as vegetable oil, for fuels, bifuels, soaps, detergents and in medicine.
